The Investment Attraction team has been building capacity over the past three years, with a goal of increasing efforts in our most productive markets and expanding our presence into new geographies to explore potential opportunities for investment that serve the Toronto Region as a whole. The past year has marked a number of milestones for the organization worth celebrating, including the first-ever mission to Brazil, a market that has yielded two investments for Toronto Global this year; the first investments from new markets including Japan, South Korea and India; and the emergence of our internal lead generation program as our primary source of investments. Our relationships with the federal Trade Commissioner Service and provincial Senior Economic Officers located in market are invaluable to the work that we do. These partnerships are definitely worth celebrating, as we work together to facilitate a smooth transition for clients looking to expand to the Toronto Region.

The relationships we hold with local economic development officers, sector experts, and business champions provides the necessary supports for companies considering expansion into the Toronto Region, and these connections also assist in buoying our pipeline. These networks will also become increasingly important as the investment attraction team continues to push for projects with a higher impact in jobs and investment.
